Smartnet silica

Directly from his experience and know-how in motorsport, Pirelli introduces a patented running formulation into cycling, capable of guaranteeing maximum grip and smoothness on dry and wet. The elongated shape of the silica molecules, unlike what has been done so far with the common spherical molecular shape silice, allows a new level of sophistication of the tread compound, with consequent improvement of driving thanks to the possibility of orienting the compound in the direction of rolling. In addition, the improvement of the mechanical resistance of the tread achieved by the improved interaction of the silic with other components (such as the Aramidic fibers directly dispersed in compound), increases protection against drilling and the duration of the rubber.
